Known for its famous WHOPPER® sandwiches, the popular Burger King franchise was founded in 1954. Since that time, BK has grown to become the second largest fast food hamburger chain in the world, serving over 11 million customers every day and extending its menu to serving a variety of items from chicken sandwiches to salads to ice cream desserts. It’s growth in recent years has been exponential with no signs of slowing down. In 2010, the restaurant was purchased by a multi-million dollar investment firm, and by 2011, BK reported that it had more than 12,400 outlets in 73 countries – 90 percent of which were privately owned and operated. One particular Burger King franchise in Ardmore, Oklahoma contracted us to install our patented GOES Energy Management Systems. According to management, the rising costs and the increasingly hot summers were becoming alarming. With the hottest summer on record at the time in 2011, this BK’s average bill was down to $2,728.40. GOES is now working with Burger King to equip other facilities in order to reduce their electricity usage.
